At TWIFE, we stand by a simple yet profound belief: representation matters. It’s not a slogan; it’s a movement, a call to action that urges us to create space for everyone in the narratives and traditions that shape our lives. Whether it’s through the stories we tell, the images we honor, or the symbols we hold dear, representation is powerful because it allows people to see themselves reflected in the world.
This is especially true in matters of faith.
The Power of Seeing Yourself
Faith plays an essential role in many people’s lives, offering a sense of belonging, hope, and purpose. Yet, for far too long, the images and symbols associated with faith have often overlooked diversity, leaving many people feeling unseen. Representation in faith is more than just diversity for diversity’s sake — it’s about affirming the identity and humanity of those who have often been marginalized or excluded.
At TWIFE, we created our Black Nativity Set and soon a Black Jesus on the Cross as part of our mission to provide faith-based products that reflect the beauty and richness of the Black community. These products are designed to offer a more inclusive representation, where people can see themselves in the sacred symbols that surround them during moments of worship, reflection, and celebration.
Why Representation in Faith Matters
Faith is deeply personal, and the symbols of that faith — from religious art to nativity sets — often become cherished parts of a family's spiritual practice. But what happens when those symbols don’t reflect who you are? What does it mean when every image you see portrays faith in a way that excludes your identity, culture, or heritage?
Representation in faith helps bridge that gap, ensuring that all people can feel a sense of belonging. When children grow up seeing their cultural identities reflected in religious imagery, it sends a powerful message: You are seen. You matter. You are part of this tradition.
This is why we believe so strongly in creating faith-based products that celebrate diversity. Our Black Nativity Set is designed with this exact purpose — to provide products that resonate with communities that have historically been underrepresented.
A More Inclusive Christmas
Christmas is a time of joy, family, and togetherness. For many, it’s also a time to reflect on their faith and the story of the nativity. But for people of color, Christmas traditions can feel disconnected from their experiences when all the imagery is rooted in a narrow perspective of what the nativity looks like.
Our Black Nativity Set allows families to celebrate Christmas in a way that feels authentic and representative of their identities. It’s not about replacing tradition — it’s about expanding it. When we offer inclusive representations of religious stories, we open the door for more people to connect with the holiday’s meaning on a deeper level.
Representation is About Empowerment
At the core of representation is empowerment. It empowers people to take pride in their heritage, culture, and identity. It fosters a sense of belonging in spaces where they may have previously felt excluded. And, perhaps most importantly, it reminds us that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and valued.
Our mission at TWIFE is to make sure that faith-based spaces are more inclusive and reflective of the world’s rich diversity. We know that when people see themselves represented in the products they use, it reinforces their sense of worth and belonging. Faith is universal, and its symbols should be too.
Our Commitment to Representation
The world is for everyone — and we’re here to make sure everyone can find themselves in it. Our products are a testament to our commitment to representation. They are designed to be both beautiful and meaningful, crafted to resonate with people who have long waited to see themselves reflected in the stories they cherish.
As we continue to grow, our goal remains the same: to create products that make space for everyone in faith and culture. We invite you to join us on this journey — because representation matters.
Last words
Representation matters because it makes space for everyone, especially in faith and culture. At TWIFE, we’re proud to be part of this mission by creating products that honor diversity and empower communities. Whether it's through our Black Nativity Set or soon our Black Jesus on the Cross, we are committed to ensuring that everyone feels seen, valued, and celebrated.
